It’s time for everyone’s favourite post of the month: my bullet journal spreads for the next few weeks. After taking a little bit of time away from the intensity of this form of creative organisation, I eased myself back into it all last month with a sort-of-half setup. I also got a tad more creative with the design of my pages, opting for a watercolour lavender theme, and my interest in using watercolours only grew when I started planning my August setup.
I feel like I’m fully back into bullet journalling again now and I think that becomes pretty obvious when looking at these pages compared to my January ones, for example. I am also pretty excited because this will be the last month that fits in this notebook – September will be the time for a new one using fresh stationery and everything! I’ll also be setting up a lot of pages related to studying/student life as my university course starts next month too. So in the meantime, whilst you’re all waiting for that back-to-school content, I present to you my bullet journal spreads for August: the month for eating ice cream…
Having a title page for the month is a relatively new thing for me. Normally I dive straight into the ‘practical’ pages, not really leaving free pages for things like watercolour paintings of ice cream cones. However, one of the ways I’ve been trying to destress a bit in the last few weeks is through art. One of the biggest things that has always held me back when it comes to being creative with a pen or brush is the daunting nature of artistic freedom. It’s overwhelming; I don’t know where to start and so often push that urge away.
Bullet journalling seems to be a solution to this though. It limits the amount of freedom I have over just creating to create which, ironically, frees me from feeling stressed about what to create. I get to be artistic but it has a tangible purpose in my every day life, and that makes it a lot easier for me to pick up the paints and give it a go.
The first practical page I’ve created for August is a simple calendar overview of the month, with weekends highlighted yellow, and a column with space to write my goals, spending habits and notes for upcoming months.
This month’s habit tracker follows the same structure as others I’ve used this year, but I decorated the bottom of the page with watercolour ice lollies. I really enjoyed spending an evening painting these. The more I use watercolours, the easier it seems to get which is nice!
Of course my wellbeing tracker is also ice cream themed! This time I’ve painted one cone for each week of the month leaving the balls blank so I can colour them in each day with how I felt. I quite like how this turned out and hopefully it will look nice coloured in!

Social Media Tracker
This is an exciting one for me, a new spread! I’ve decided to start tracking followers on my blog, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest each week. It’s not really that I’m particularly pushing to get certain numbers all the time, but I am interested to see if one platform is growing quicker than others and how my engagement each week impacts each one.
And finally we’ve come to the start of the weekly spreads. This is the first month I will be creating my weekly spreads as the month progresses. This is so I can customise it each week to fit what I’m up to over those days. The first one is pretty simple, but it gives you a taste for what the rest of August will look like planned out in my journal.
